Many people had strong feelings about Israel’s involvement in the contest while this conflict was going on, which led to a lot of debate and disagreement.
There were problems at Eurovision 2024. The Netherlands’ song was not allowed to compete. Ireland’s singer, Bambie Thug, who made history as the first non-binary performer, got into trouble. They wanted to support Palestine during their performance, but the European Broadcasting Union organisers told them to remove those messages. Bambie Thug was unhappy with this decision and spoke out against it.
