Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2.2

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2.2: The government is giving more money to the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) program. This helps groups that provide houses to make homes better and eco-friendly.

This new part, called Wave 2.2, will give £80 million to groups in England. They can use this money to make homes use less energy and be more efficient. The goal is to fix homes that don’t have a good Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) grade.

If you want the money, send your application before January 19, 2024.

What you need for your application

Here are some important things that you should consider:

  • Most of the homes in your application (at least 90%) should have a low energy grade, below EPC Band C. But if a few still need to meet this, they might still fund them in special cases.
  • Your proposal for Wave 2.2 must have at least 100 homes graded D-G in energy efficiency. If you have fewer, you can still apply, but you need to team up with others in a group (consortium) and explain why you couldn’t include 100 homes. Try to get as close to 100 homes as you can.
  • If you already got funding in Wave 2.1 and signed an agreement with DESNZ, you can’t apply for Wave 2.2.
  • Make sure your projects follow the new PAS 2035:2023 rules.
  • You need to pay at least half of your project’s eligible costs.
  • We will check what changes you want to make and how much they will cost. If your plans match the goals of Wave 2.2, you will get a better score than if they don’t match.

Apply for Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2.2

You can now apply for money from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.2. They are giving up to £80 million for projects that make social housing better in England.

This extra money will help social housing landlords install things like insulation and heat pumps to save energy. The aim is to help people in homes that don’t have good heating and insulation.

We’re good at managing big projects like this. We’ve worked on SHDF projects before, making sure social landlords get the help they need. We’ve done this in every round of funding, including the Demonstrator stage, the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG), and Local Authority Delivery (LAD).

They have done a lot of good work like they have improved thousands of homes in the previous SHDF phases, and right now, we’re working on over £100 million worth of projects in Wave 2.1. If you want to know more about these projects, check our projects page.

Their team is really good at helping clients get the money they need to impact real people and communities positively. This year alone, we’ve helped clients secure millions of pounds in SHDF Wave 2.1 grant funding, and it was even matched with more funding.

They know a lot about this and can help you, too! They can work together to make sure your submission for SHDF Wave 2.2 is a success. They will create applications with strong evidence to support them.

Our team can check out the homes you already have, determine which ones are best for this program, and predict what will happen if you make these changes. They make sure everything fits the competition rules. And don’t worry; we will also figure out how much it will cost and ensure it can happen.

Need for More Initiatives

They are taking a good step with SHDF Wave 2.2 but needs more initiatives like this. The world’s environmental problems are worsening, so governments should always focus on green projects. This is crucial for a future that’s better for our planet.
